This group is led by Families in Harmony, an organisation run by kinship carers. The group is open to kinship carers of African, Caribbean or Black Mixed Heritage in South London, Kent and Surrey. We also welcome kinship carers who are non-black, but caring for a black or black mixed heritage kinship child.

When and where we meet

We meet: Monthly

Last Friday of the month in term time – 11am-1pm

Location: Randlesdown Road, Bellingham, SE6

We also meet online on Zoom and have a Whatsapp group (contact Sharon if you would like to attend the online Zoom group, or to be added to the Whatsapp group)

Who we are

We offer peer support to African, Caribbean and Black Mixed Heritage kinship families through cultural food/activities/celebrations, advocacy and therapeutic parenting training.

Our in-person group runs out of the London Borough of Lewisham but kinship carers from South London and Kent are welcome to come along. Kinship carers from South London, Kent and Surrey are welcome to join our Whatsapp group and online Zoom group. We also have a group for kinship carers in North London, West London and Essex and a West Midlands group.

Please note – Children can sometimes attend the group. We host holiday and special cultural family events and meet ups.
